Presidente Usa dopo incendi che hanno devastato lo Stato
"Una tragedia inimmaginabile, il paese è con voi, faremo il possibile per ricostruire e rispettare la cultura e le tradizioni locali": così Joe Biden a Maui, dopo i recenti incendi boschivi che hanno ucciso oltre 100 persone e distrutto l'ex capitale Lahaina.
Il presidente ha reso omaggio alle vittime ed espresso la sua solidarietà ai famigliari, ricordando anche la propria tragedia personale (la morte della propria moglie e della figlioletta di un anno in un incidente stradale) e il "buco nero" che resta dopo la morte di un proprio caro.
Biden ha parlato sotto il secolare e iconico 'banyan tree', il più grande albero del genere degli Usa e uno dei più grandi del mondo, sfregiato dai roghi ma sopravvissuto alle fiamme: un simbolo di resilienza, ha sottolineato.

"Un unimaginable tragedy, the country is with you, we will do everything possible to rebuild and respect local culture and traditions": said Joe Biden in Maui, after the recent forest fires that killed over 100 people and destroyed the former capital Lahaina.
The president paid tribute to the victims and expressed his solidarity with the families, also recalling his personal tragedy (the death of his wife and one-year-old daughter in a road accident) and the "black hole" that remains after the death of a loved one.
Biden spoke under the centuries-old and iconic 'banyan tree', the largest tree of its kind in the US and one of the largest in the world, scarred by the fires but survived the flames: a symbol of resilience, he underlined.
